Luongo done talking about Thomas, focused on Canucks’ task at hand

Luongo

BOSTON — Roberto Luongo’s comments about Tim Thomas after Game 5 set off a firestorm that’s lasted three days now.

But it might finally be time to turn the page.

The Vancouver netminder was asked today if he regrets having made those comments, and he basically didn’t want to think about it much longer.

“Listen, I know we’re in the Stanley Cup Final and everything is under the microscope and going to get blown out of proportion. Obviously my whole comment I don’t think was a negative comment if you take the whole comment,” he said. “But at the end of the day, I’m one win away from winning a Stanley Cup and that’s all I really care about now. All the other stuff is noise to me and doesn’t really affect what’s going to take place for me tomorrow night.

“To be honest with you, I don’t really care.”

One thing Luongo and Thomas can now agree on — neither one cares about the comment. Both will let his play do the talking in tomorrow night’s Game 6.
