Ference thinking solely about Bruins’ Game 7, not Flames’ loss

VANCOUVER — For his NHL career, Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference’s teams are 4-4 in Game 7 situations.
When he takes the ice for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final tomorrow night, he’ll be trying to push that record over the .500 mark and also make up for the missed opportunity he suffered through with Calgary in 2004.
That season, the Flames missed two opportunities to close out Tampa Bay for the Cup before succumbing in seven games.
“It was a long time ago. You obviously remember it and stuff like that, but it’s not really on my mind anymore,” he said today after the Bruins practiced at Rogers Arena, where the ultimate game will be played.
Ference might not think much about that ’04 season anymore, but it taught him a lesson about how rare the chance to play on the game’s biggest stage is. Especially now that he’s onto the second half of his career, there might not be another opportunity waiting down the road.
“It just means another chance,” said Ference, who helped the Bruins stave off elimination in Game 6 the way the Lightning did to the Flames seven years ago. “You obviously, in your whole career you’re not going to get too many shots at it. And whether it’s Game 6, Game 7, just to get in the Final is a treat. And to be with a good team that gives you a chance to win it, it’s an honor.”
I wonder if AV ever thought splitting up the Sedin’s would work. With Raymond out and last line change the twins have a better shot of eluding Chara/Siedenberg if they are separated.
He’s the ‘only’ D-man to score a goal(2) in these Finals. Hopefully, he gets a 3rd tonight and the B’s Win The Cup!

Here is the deal with Ferrence. He is good enough to play against the Sedins. Because we are on the road and because the Bs have this last change garbage in their heads, they should split up Chara and Seidenberg except for certain circumstances, such as last minute of the period and other similar important parts. Last change should impact the way the Bs do business tonight
It should be Chara-McQuaid; Seids-AF; Kaberle-Boychuck
They have to maximize the amount of time that Chara and Seids are on the ice. Usually, they both play half the game, but it is together. If they split them up due to the last change rule, they can have one of them out there for basically 45 mins of the game, at least.
I trust Ference probably more than any of the D-men outside of Chara and Seidenberg, and just have loved the fire and the team mentality he’s shown on the ice all year long… especially in the Stars game and the home game against the Thrashers back in Dec(?) I think.
As to Luongo, although I prefer MCK’s scenario, I think he gives up three tonight. I think it will be enough for the Bruins, but I can’t see this game being anything other than a nail-biter.

Love Ference. he’s a bloddy warrior.
Guy took a lot of heat because he was always injured. Now we see what we get when he is healthy. He has scored some big goals. He has made some bad plays, but certainly a plus player for them
