Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli today told the assembled media at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in St. Paul, Minn., that he will not qualify goaltender Matt Dalton, who was scheduled to be a restricted free agent.

Combine that with Anton Khudobin, Boston’s No. 3 on the depth chart by the end of last season, being an unrestricted free agent, and suddenly it looks like the Bruins need to replenish their goaltending coffers.

The Bruins might look for a goalie Saturday during rounds two through seven of the draft.

Dalton, who was signed as a collegiate free agent out of Bemidji State, appeared in 22 games for the Providence (AHL) farm club over the last couple seasons. But he spent most of the last two years with Reading of the ECHL. He will now become an unrestricted free agent.

Khudobin, who was acquired in the Bruins’ only trade on deadline day last season, was 9-4-1 with a .920 save percentage and 2.40 goals-against average for the P-Bruins after the deal. Chiarelli said the netminder might go to play in Russia.
