Fans of the fight game will love the Bruins’ third-round pick at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in St. Paul, Minn., today.
According to hockeyfights.com, left winger Anthony Camara — who’s listed at 6-foot, 194 pounds — racked up 16 fighting majors with Saginaw (OHL) last season.
His fight card included a bout with fellow Bruins prospect Tyler Randell.
The Bruins selected Camara with the 81st overall pick, which they acquired from Phoenix in the deal that sent Derek Morris back to the desert. Camara also recorded 17 points (8 goals) in 64 games last season. He’ll turn 18 in September.

Read the scouting report on him when he was being drafted into the OHL in 2009. Two comments stuck out to me: 1) Makes players around him better, 2) You win with players like him. Seems like a Bruins to me.
I like the fact that he sticks up for his team and that he’s used to kill penalties for Saginaw….that tells me he doesn’t take stupid penalties.
If that happens, Hendrik – then all bets are off for the Bs. They’ll be contenders for a decade if they find a second Lucic. I think he’s more Thorton myself. Either way – that would be a great pick. I think we learned alot about Thorton and 4th line value. Some might say aiming for a 4th line forward with a third round pick is picking for ‘low value’. I say bull-shit. I think the Bs have shown that you need to be 4 deep. Remember the old Islanders teams. I like this pick most because he’s one of the best fits for that role in the draft – which to me is high value – and because of how his style rounds out what PC has drafted and picked up for prospects over the last few years. I really think PC is damn good at what he does. I mean the guy completely swung and missed on Kaberle (I know Matt .. I know.) and they still raised the cup and have an amazing future. The fact that we can simply laugh off Colborne, the 1 and the 2 says just how well this organization is put together right now.
Bravo!
That kinda reminds me of our second-Round pick in 2006… Bad offensive numbers but a ton of fights. Let’s hope he develops similarly!
Sounds like the first order of business is having him shake hands with Thorty. Considering how much has been invested in small, skilled players up front (Spooner, Knight, KhoKho, Hamill.. even Sauve) I like this pick. Skilled players don’t look all that skilled unless someone is making space for them and retrieving the puck from the corners. Solid pick, I think.
