Well, if the Bruins really did search low and high for a new coach for their Providence (AHL) farm club, that was a waste of time and energy.

Today they announced they’ve hired the guy who was already here.

Bruce Cassidy, who was Rob Murray’s assistant coach for the last three seasons with the P-Bruins, will become the 10th head coach in P-Bruins history.

His coaching record as a head coach in the ECHL, AHL and in the NHL with the Washington Capitals is 295-253-36-37 (W-L-T/SOL-OTL) in 621 games.
