The Bruins today announced a renewal of their affiliation with the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League.

This will be the third season of a relationship between the Bruins and Royals. Players in the Bruins’ organization assigned to the ECHL will report to Reading.

Goaltender Michael Hutchinson, who projects as the backup for the Providence (AHL) farm club, cut his teeth as a pro last season with the Royals. Several other Bruins farmhands have gone through there the last couple season.

Oddly enough, archrival Toronto has shared the affiliation with the Bruins and will continue to do so.
