Ed: The agreement is that no player drafted while playing in a North American league is allowed to play in the AHL before 20 y.o. Kalus was allowed at 19 because he was playing in Europe during his draft year. It’s as simple as that.
Ahhhhhh, it’s a wonderful day when the schedule comes out…means we are another day closer. Surprised to see so many early season home games……but, whatever. Hopefully we have a better class of guys down here this year….too many stiffs the last 2 years and no playoffs!!!! What’s up with that? We need hockey here in June too…not just in Boston!! Looking forward to the draft pics but hate that rule about guys having to be 20 years old to be in the AHL. We had a guy here, Petr Kalus that avoided that rule a few years ago. Matt, can you explain that rule and if you know whay they can’t have under 20 year olds?
