Bruins with 3 spots on THN list of top 10 games to watch in 2011-12

Bruins-Habs should be heated/By S. Bradley

We’re still a little more than three weeks away from the start of Bruins training camp and camps around the NHL.

Over at The Hockey News, they can’t wait for the regular season to begin — for obvious reasons.

Today Adam Proteau posted his top 10 games to watch in 2011-12, and no surprise the defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins are involved in a few of them.

No. 1 on the list is April 7, the last day of the regular season, when all 30 NHL teams will be in action. The Bruins will host Buffalo that day.

The No. 2 game is the lone rematch of last year’s Cup Final, with Vancouver visiting Boston on Jan. 7. This is the one I’m looking forward to the most.

Of course, a Bruins-Montreal game made the list. The first Habs visit to Boston, Oct. 27, made the list at No. 7. That should be an interesting night, especially with Max Pacioretty seemingly healthy enough to skate in that contest. It would be his first appearance at TD Garden since the 180-plus-PIM night in Boston last winter when he engaged in some physical exchanges with several Bruins players. And it would be his first match-up with Boston since Zdeno Chara’s hit knocked him out of action with a concussion and fractured vertebrae March 8.

Let’s face it, when you’re the defending Cup champs, every night is going to be a big night — as opponents get extra jacked to try to take you down and visits to out-of-town rinks become events in other cities. But there are still some games that look, on paper from the view of the preseason, a little more important than others.
