Savard’s name will be on Cup with Bruins teammates
BOSTON — While the Bruins are still waiting to here about all the names they petitioned to get engraved on the Stanley Cup, one has been confirmed as included by the NHL.
Center Marc Savard will be on the Cup, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli confirmed tonight during the State of the Bruins town hall meeting at TD Garden.
Steven Kampfer and Shane Hnidy still await their fate.
“You’re only allowed so many,” said team president Cam Neely. “So you have to work through the list. There’s the obvious ones and then you have to work through the list of people. It’s not an easy task; it really isn’t. You’d like to get as many on there as possible. But it was important to get Savvy on there and fortunately he will.”

Glad to hear it about Savard. I think Hnidy put in some time in the Montreal series and did well.
Good news, but probably bittersweet for him.
Best Savvy news I’ve heard in a long time! Glad the NHL did the right thing.
Good. And about time.
