BOLTON, Mass. — The Bruins’ annual charity golf tournament is one of those events that signals summer’s over and fall has arrived, regardless of what the calendar might say.
Yesterday at The International, most of the Bruins players seemed genuinely excited to be back in Boston with training camp just days away.
While they might be reluctant about letting the celebration of the Stanley Cup championship end, they seem eager about getting on with their defense of the title.
Here’s the link to my story on NHL.com today. And here’s one Milan Lucic quote that didn’t make it into the story I think sums up how most of the players are feeling right now:
“It’s obviously a little different feeling. It’s great with what we did all last year and it was a lot of fun and it was great with all the chemistry we created and all that type of stuff. So with most of the same group coming in, it’s going to be a lot of fun seeing everyone and we’re going to do as much as we can to get ourselves back to that point where we’re having fun playing with one another and playing with that team chemistry and that team effort that we had. And I think that’s our main focus in training camp – to get ourselves back into shape and to create that team chemistry that we had last year that was so great.”
