Bruins up tempo with intersquad scrimmages at Garden
BOSTON — In preparation for tomorrow night’s Black and White game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, the Bruins scrimmaged within their practice groups this morning.
Group A was on first and put on a spirited display. In addition to Benoit Pouliot’s first goal as a Bruins and a sweet snipe by Nathan Horton, Tim Thomas got his competitive juices flowing.
On an Alexander Khokhlachev shootout attempt, Thomas came way out of his net and knocked the rookie down. After Khokhlachev crashed into the end wall, Thomas skated over and apologize. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner sounded concerned after the play, but was downplayed the emotion of the game.
“It’s just the third day of camp, it doesn’t really matter,” he said.
Tyler Seguin showed signs of physicality while forechecking. He centered a line with Nathan Horton and rookie Kyle MacKinnon. At one point he rid Calle Ridderwall into the glass in an attempt to retrieve the puck.
Group B will scrimmage in about an hour and I’ll. post some observations after that.

Matt, can you give me an update as to how Jamie Arneil has looked at camp? I loved watching him in junoir and was very excited when Boston drafted him because I felt his style and smarts would make him a sure-fire NHLer of some capicity. A lot of talk has been about Caron, Spooner and Knight (rightly so) but I think Jamie may sneak onto the big club.
