By now we all know about Dougie Hamilton’s size, vision, passing ability and fluid skating.
What we found out Tuesday night in the Bruins’ Black an White Scrimmage down in Providence was that he also possess a solid helping of courage and determination.
At one point, Hamilton blocked a shot that hit him in his midsection. He made it through the rest of his shift and then missed some time. But despite the irrelevance of the game, he got back out onto the ice and finished up taking a regular shift. For more on Hamilton’s performance, here’s a link to my first contribution to CBSBoston.com.
Hamilton is scheduled to make his NHL preseason debut tonight when the Bruins visit Ottawa.

Well that’ll make a guy cough.
Apparently CBSBoston did not let you get away with the “nuts” reference, Matt?
Dougie’s veteran of the OHL. Some guys already have NHL calibre shots at that level. He’s a dedicated defenseman doing his job by blocking a shot. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill here. The kid is too good for this kind of coddling.
