BOSTON — The Bruins’ training camp is now a week old and the 2011-12 edition of the team is starting to take shape.

After the 14 cuts made last night, the Bruins were down to six forward lines and 11 defensemen for their two practice sessions today at TD Garden.

Center Patrice Bergeron was also missing, as he’s headed for Bathurst, where he played his junior hockey. He’ll have his number retired there Sunday. Head coach Claude Julien confirmed that after playing in the Bruins’ first two preseason games, Bergeron will miss the next two contests.

Kirk MacDonald, who was among the Friday cuts, stuck around Boston to fill in for Bergeron today.
