WILMINGTON, Mass. — We won’t know if the Bruins have learned anything over the last two days since their defeat in Montreal Saturday until around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
You vote: Bruin of the Week
No doubt the Bruins players who reported to TD Garden Sunday for a lengthy video session could tell you that none of them deserve to be the Bruin of the Week after an 0-2-0 week against Montreal.
Nonetheless, we still have to look for a silver lining or three in the storm clouds hovering above the Bruins right now.
While Bruins slept, Canadiens swept
There’s no telling what it’s going to take for the Bruins to put forth a 60-minute effort to at least put themselves in a position to win a game, let alone actually earn two points.
Playing in front of a packed house against their archrival on Hockey Night in Canada after waking up as the last-place team in the Eastern Conference didn’t do the trick.
Pouliot sick, Bruins hope first-line reunion will cure them
BOSTON — The Bruins practiced today at TD Garden without the services of Benoit Pouliot.
Head coach Claude Julien said the forward was sick and he did not know if Pouliot would make the trip to Montreal for tomorrow night’s game against the Canadiens.

BOSTON — The Bruins might not be panicking yet, but the NHL standings should be more of a source of distress now that they’re on the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Carey Price made 29 saves in Montreal’s 2-1 win over the Bruins at TD Garden, which dropped Boston to a conference-worst 3-6-0 on the season.
Bruins have to get their hate on for Habs
BOSTON — Maybe an old-fashioned Original Six rivalry will be just what the Bruins need to help them get out of their early-season funk.
The Montreal Canadiens will be at TD Garden for a 7 p.m. start.
Julien still plans on bigger role for Rask in Bruins’ net

Rask/By S. Bradley
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Through eight games, the Bruins have started Tim Thomas six times and Tuukka Rask twice.
That’s not the type of pace that would grant Rask a bigger role by the end of the year if the Bruins stuck to that 2-to-1 ratio. It also doesn’t quite jibe with what the Bruins said they’re plan was for the goaltending split during training camp.
No-bunny should make fun of Chara’s attempt to cheer up kids

WILMINGTON, Mass. — If being willing to do anything to cheer up sick kids could earn a player votes for the Norris Trophy, then there’d be no way Detroit’s Nicklas Lidstrom would again edge out Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara next summer.
By now, you’ve seen the photos of Chara dressed in a pink bunny suit during a Halloween-themed visit to youngsters in the hospital.
Now might be your best chance to grab Bruins-Canadiens tickets
The Bruins and Montreal Canadiens are in the same boat right now — they’re struggling in the standings.
Thursday night the two franchises will renew the best rivalry in hockey, and now might be your best chance to grab a couple tickets to the showdown at TD Garden.
Both teams, including the one-win Canadiens, will be desperate for a victory. With our ticket partner TiqIQ’s “Make an Offer” feature, you can get into the game at a good price: Make an offer of $65 for a seat that’s normally near $100, and you’re in. But act fast, as the TiqIQ “Make an Offer” feature expires today at 7 p.m.

Little more line tweaking for Bruins at practice
WILMINGTON, Mass. — After taking a rare mid-week day off yesterday, the Bruins returned to practice today at Ristuccia Arena.
Every healthy player hit the ice, with one minor tweak in the forward lines.
Poll result: Seguin soars to Bruin of the Week honors

Seguin/By S. Bradley
Something tells me that with his popularity, Tyler Seguin would win any poll I put up on this blog.
But there’s no arguing that he was deserving of the Bruin of the Week award for last week, and readers of TheBruinsBlog.net made it so.
NCAA prospect update: Florek’s fired up

Florek
There’s no denying that Justin Florek is on a roll.
The fifth-round pick of the Bruins from 2010 helped Northern Michigan reach No. 14 in the national polls with a win and a tie against Michigan by scoring a goal and assisting on three others. For his efforts, he was named the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week.
Bruins practice quick hits: On Caron, McQuaid and more

Caron/By S. Bradley
WILMINGTON, Mass. — As mentioned earlier, Jordan Caron was back with the Bruins today for practice at Ristuccia Arena after spending yesterday skating for the Providence (AHL) farm club in a loss to Albany.
Caron comes back in time to practice with Boston Bruins
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Jordan Caron’s latest stint with the Providence Bruins (AHL) lasted all of one day, as he returned to the Boston Bruins today for practice at Ristuccia Arena.
You vote: Bruin of the Week
It’s time for the return of everyone’s favorite weekly election: Bruin of the Week.
Despite the Bruins losing two of their three games, there are several worthy candidates to choose from.
