Sauve
Depending on how you look at it, forwards Max Sauve and Lane MacDermid were either saved from having to go on the Bruins’ team-building excursion or they missed out.
Regardless, the Bruins assigned both to the Providence (AHL) farm club prior to departing for their trip.
The roster now stands at 25, including injured defenseman Steven Kampfer. My guess is that minus third goaltender Anton Khudobin, this will be the roster you see when the Bruins host Philadelphia in the season opener Thursday at TD Garden. That would mean Jordan Caron and Chris Clark, who would sign something close to a minimum contract, would both be on the team. It also puts to rest the thought that the Bruins would cut bait with Benoit Pouliot without giving him a chance to prove what he can do in the regular season.
The Bruins’ team-building activity was still a secret to everyone but the team’s brass. We’ll find out more Monday afternoon during a conference call.

What was your impression of these three players; Button, Spooner, and Knight?
Thanks
well i had the Island part right
ooh update…they’re heading to “an Island”..where there may not be much cell communication…..that’s all i got LOL
according to Marchands’ facebook status….off to NOVA SCOTIA???
Julien can only handle grooming one rookie at a time or he’ll lose his marbles so Max goes down. No way do the Bruins get as lucky with injuries this season so Arniel and Sauve will get some reps at some point.
Thanks for responding Matt, I’m sure your pretty busy. From what you’ve blogged it seems like Corvo will shoot where Kaberle passed, Clark could help with a depth role and leadership, and Pouliot will have me yelling at the TV when he’s on the ice.
Corvo is an excellent puck-mover with a great shot. He can struggle in his own end/Pouliot is kind of like Wheeler — big but doesn’t play like it. Could be a bust/Clark is your typical hard-nosed fourth-liner with a crooked nose. He plays “Bruins” hockey.

Used to be a Bruins fan , but Marchand ruined that for me. Are all hockey players like him , or is it just him?
Matt, maybe any thoughts on Pouliot/Clark/Corvo because they are the new guys. The player I know the least about would be Clark for sure.
George-
As I only saw 2 games it’s kind of tough for me to do that. I saw a lot of practices. If you had a specific guy, I could try to help.

Matt, will you do a sort of scouting report on how some guys have looked in pre-season? I didn’t get to see any games and would love your opinion on the new guys or even returning players.
