Bruins 16,
That’s why I was surprised he looked decent last night. He’s on a short leash I think and I’m pretty sure he knows it. If we can notice him on the ice for positive reasons, then he probably is earning his ice time. If he stops doing that or gets too comfortable, I’d be thrilled to see him in the press box. I feel the same way about Caron. What I have seen Caron do is less than what I’ve seen Pouloit do so far (although I saw next to none of the preseason admittedly.) If they can keep each other honest, then I’ll be very happy for it. It seems like Pouloit has pretty good chemistry with Seguin as well, so there is potential, the question is whether or not it will be realized. I’m going into it with an open mind solely because Chia made the call.
David and George
Caron did have the better camp and I was disappointed that he would be scratched after one game. Pouliot did have a decent game, but he didn’t play very many minutes. Hopefully, for him, it continues but I’ve seen him be non-entity when it comes to checking too many times. Montreal let Pouliot go for a reason.
What I lied aout Corvo was that whe he had the puck I wasn’t worried he would make some horrible mistake. He’s fast and always got back into a good defensive position. Agreed Marchand and Seguin looked good.
I was very impressed with both sides of the special teams last night. That was the best puck movement on the power play i have seen in years. The fact that we just don’t rely on Charra makes this a much more dynamic unit. Corvo has some serious potential back there along with the rest of the d corp. Marchand line is the first line as far as I can see. it was pretty showing with the start of the second period and all line played before Horton line. The players really seem to be in place to do some srious damage to the opposition. our special teams and good helth will put us in great shape, not to mention nobody wants anything to do with thornton or Mcquaid and they were looking for it last night on a few occasions.
George,
You are not alone, I thought Pouloit had much better chemistry with the 3rd line than Caron did. He made some nice chances and almost had goals a couple of times. It was weird to watch him when he decided to make a hit. It was like he flipped a switch and just suddenly had bloodlust.
Seguin and Marchand looked great again, and around the end of the game, it started to look like the top line was trying. This looks to be an interesting season and we will see how frequently these Bruin show up. My guess is a lot. I’m really looking forward to the next 3 against TB!
I might be alone here but Pouliot looked better than I thought he would, some nice hits and a couple scoring chances. Bergeron line is going to be really good this year, good to see a guy like Peverly come too a new team and find his game.
The picture of Marchand standing up to Hedman is too funny! The Peverley goal picture is a great one.
Good game all around by the B’s. Malone, Pyatt and Purcell can now join Downie having nightmares of TT’s saves on them.
