Peverley signs three-year extension to stay with Bruins

Peverley/By S. Bradley
WILMINGTON, Mass. — He’s moved up the Bruins’ depth chart and now he’s obviously a big part of their future plans.
Forward Rich Peverley today signed a three-year contract extension with Boston that will last through the end of 2014-15 season.
Peverley, who mostly played on the third line after he was acquired from Atlanta last winter, has been skating well on the second line next to Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand so far this season. In three games, Peverley has two goals and a plus-2 rating. He is also a key member of the Bruins’ penalty kill and power-play units.
To this point, Peverley’s greatest moments as a Bruin came in the first round last spring against Montreal and then in the Stanley Cup Final against Vancouver, when he filled in for an injured Nathan Horton and finshed that series with two goals, two assists and a plus-1 rating.
The Bruins will practice at 11 a.m. this morning. I’ll have more after that.
Reasonable contract. I hope the people whining about Marchand’s contract take note.
Good to see Peverley will be with the B’s for another 3 years.
I like it. He’s looked good so far and has been pulling the trigger more since game 1.
That line looks great so far too. It’s got good hands, good speed, willingness to go into the dirty areas, and is responsible in the other two zones.
Just found out the extensions ins 3.25m/yr. It’s definitely fair, so it makes me think that the key RFAs are all looking at reasonable/ advantageous price points.
Would have preferred to see Krejci signed first
Good to see the brass making moves. No need to wait til the end of the season to try to deal with the numerous FA’s we will have.
