McQuaid/By S. Bradley
For the second time in five months Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid crashed into the end boards through no one’s fault but his own last night in Raleigh.
The undisclosed injury he suffered cost him the rest of the third period of the Bruins’ loss to Carolina, but it seems it won’t keep him from going to Chicago with the team.
Head coach Claude Julien said today on a day off in Raleigh that McQuaid was still being assessed by doctors but would travel with the team. Should McQuaid not be able to play against the Blackhawks Saturday night, look for rookie Matt Bartkowski to step in.
Meanwhile, center David Krejci continues to be day-to-day with a core injury. He will not join the team in the Windy City.

Regarding Pouliot, this may be a make or break year for his career in the NHL. CJ may be able to get something out of him that the Wild and Habs couldn`t. Or is this PC`s little science project? He have had success in the past in creating Habs killers with ex habs that were kicked to the curb.
Bojangles
JPT is harmless. Right now he’s got a petition against Iginla’s clean hit on P.K. Subban. P.K was on the ice for four of the Avalanche goals last night, so its not a good time for JPT.
Bruins 16 pointed this out the other day, but Pouloit still doesn’t play a lot of minutes (just over 10 in Carolina) and the only person to play less was Caron. He has looked good, but I’m dubious about switching him for a whole period. I think a couple shifts might be worth a try if the top line isn’t going well, and only if he has earned it that game. Interesting idea though.
That is an interesting idea Bo. I have to admit I’ve liked his game so far. I work with a gang (mob, heard, flock?) of Habs fans and they really like to point out that he played like that early for them too…but CJ is a very different coach than JM so hopefully Pouliot won’t disappear too quickly.
Please don’t even mention JPT. You’ll jinx us and now he’ll show for sure. Let sleeping slugs lay!
End of thread – maybe no one will pick this one up but…
If Pouliot starts to show even a little finish – call me the first who’d be interested to see CJ switch him with Looch for a period. Pouliot’s up-tic in tempo might mesh well with Seguin and Horty. Idea has me curious….

Ya where is JPT? I haven’t had to remind him that Guy Lafleur roots for the Bruins now! Or how Serge Savard turns off the televison when the present-day Habs try to embelish for a penalty call? Or what life would be like for them without Carey Price? I can’t believe he’s not on here chirping away since the B’s are 1-3. Maybe he’s too busy watching re-runs!
PatD,
You sounded just a little too serious…I like a good joke, it’s just you put a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
We really need to get Darth Quaider a map of the ice and mark off where you shouldn’t trip…
PatD,
I’ll raise me glass to ya on every B’s goal Saturday night.
Watched the replays of the Asham vs Beagle and the Abdelkader vs LaPierre fisticuffs last night. I enjoyed the Abdelkader ‘W’…Asham’s reaction, after flattening Beagle, reminded me of Tie Domi.
Hopefully you will have to make a run out to the liquor store during the second intermission to get 4 more…I’ll be tilting a few back up here in Nova Scotia that night as well…cheers my friend.
PatD, LOL,…about the Guinness…I picked up a 4 pack of their “Foreign Extra Stout” last week. I haven’t tried it yet, so no taste review. Hopefully, I’ll finish it off during the Hawks game Saturday night…one for each B’s goal scored.
Same to you Cormac…lets virtually hug it out…no wait we’re Bruins fans…lets have a Guinness or twelve.
PatD..no problems here, we’re all B’s fans,…initially, I thought you weren’t…sorry, for ‘stepping on your toes’.
@Cormac…yeah perhaps I was a little snide in my response to you but the point of my first comment was to be funny. And the point of your comment to me was to be snide…so we’re even? @Bruins16…Yes I know Wideman was a pylon. Horton and Campbell were integral parts of the cup run. I wouldn’t go back for all the money in the world. Gosh, we win the cup and our sense of humor goes out the window. So truce OK? Lets all save our judgements and bad feelings for the Habs fans that post on here…like JPT…where is that crazy scape goat when you need him?
PatD,…sorry my first comment wasn’t profound enough for you to make a comment on the article. I’ll try harder next time, OK?
@Cormac. Yes but you are the first person to say it twice…And when I said your first comment I was making reference to the first comment on the post. The one about the team “stepping up”. Seriously how do you come up with these gems? I am going to go think about what I’ve done and how I have annoyed such a great hockey mind as yourself. Before though can you enlighten us as to what the team should do if Thomas gets hurt? Wait…I know…play Rask. See, your genius is rubbing off on us.
Pat
Wideman got pushed around so much. by the Flyers, that I can’t believe you would even mention him again. The deal with Florida, with Horton and Campell changing to Boston addresses, is one of the big reasons B’s hung a banner ten days ago.
PatD,
You’re Wideman comment was off topic(sorry for being the 2nd person to point that out)…”just sayin”
@Cormac…you’re right. Sorry…If there was an Etc. area to post I would have. Keep up the good work though my friend. Pointing out others mistakes and offering cutting edge hockey philosophy like your first comment. Only a finely honed hockey mind could have cut to the chase like that. You really should be on the payroll. You are like the reincarnation of Howie Meeker or something.
yeah, and I just noticed that Wideman still sucks and he plays like he is a drunk baby deer trying to walk on ice…….just sayin’
PatD,
Shouldn’t your comment go on a Caps board and not on a B’s board under a McQuaid/Krejci injury update?…”just sayin”
It is not everyone if two players are not in like Seguin and marchand
Not sayin’ that at all. I don’t miss Wideman for one second. It just struck me funny is all.
what are you ‘just sayin’ PatD??? you’d rather have wideman than Horton. COME ON
I just noticed that Dennis Wideman has more points so far than everyone on the Bruins except Marchand and Seguin….just sayin’.
The longer Krejci is ‘day-to-day’…the more the B’s have to step up, as a TEAM!
