Bruins will try to calm Hurricanes with a dose of Rask

BOSTON — Tuukka Rask was the first Bruins goaltender off the ice this morning at TD Garden, so you can expect him to get the start tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Rask last played a week ago Monday in the 1-0 home loss to Colorado.
As for the rest of the Bruins’ lineup, Adam McQuaid (neck) is a game-time decision after missing the game in Chicago. Steven Kampfer (knee) and David Krejci (core) are out, according to head coach Claude Julien, The lines this morning stayed the same as they’ve been for the start of the Bruins’ previous two contests.
Cam Ward is scheduled to start for Carolina.
Whether it will be Caron or Pouliot on that 3rd line, they have to have somebody able to start the rush and get them the puck. When Krejci returns I’d begin with Seguin as 3rd line center, he’s seems ready.
Stu, agree on Pouliot, the verdict is still out on him.
It’s by no means the end of the world here, and for sure Krejcis absence hurts, but I’m very concerned with their PP. I think they will be fine, but they need to find a solution to the PP. I also like the way Pouliot played tonight (I may be a minority here) but he is definitely working hard and I can see that he may be close to having an impact. I think he will benefit from playing with Seguin when Krejci comes back.
The Bruins discipline suffered last night.
Presumably Chara charged Harrison to protect Horton who is still fresh off of a concussion. Then Horton instigates a fight afterwards, nullifying this presumption.
The B’s manage to make a game of it with a goal on solid play by Brad Marchand and Rich Peverley, only to have a complete breakdown in discipline lead by Marchand’s hopeless penalty in his own end of the ice. Julien gets tossed.
Emotional hockey is usually trumped by a more disciplined approach, I’d rather see clean hard hitting. They need to keep their heads through adversity. Its only October….
6 games. Champions don’t panic after 6 games. This was the only stinker and I actually liked the fight they showed. Could bring about positive changes.

Krejci can’t get back on the ice fast enough for the B’s offense.
Definitely an embarrassing night. Lack of finish is killing them. Should have had a goal off the hop. Once again the Bruins are making the goalies look good. Reminds me of two years ago. Still early, but the powerplay looks terrible (despite the goal in the third) and it is the biggest reason why they are 2-4 right now. Horton was a criminal tonight. They may well have came back if not for that. They let Rask down by not being able to score some goals, but he should have had the second one. Overall, a bad night — easily their worst of the season.

For once you have a point, but why weren’t you watching the Habs game? You’ll probably more frustrated with the Habs, that Julien was with the officiating. By the way your boys didn’t win either. If any team, in the past, has had the league office in its back pocket it was the Habs. By the way, don’t give up on the Bruins just yet JPT, there still the best bet to bring the Cup to your home province.
Embarrassing display tonight. Pev scores and The Horton/Lucic/Marchand sideshow takes over trying to fight guys that just don’t want to, completely ending any shot the Bruins had to come back.
Very entertaining watching Julien and the rest of the Bruins blow a gasket tonight. It must be very frustating for them now with C. Campbell out of power that the NHL is actually calling the game by the rules. I wonder if Greg Campbell will call his daddy after the game tonight and cry for him to come back.

I’m been wondering what you’ve been up to, but with the Habs record you have be a little quiet. If you want something funny watch how many times P.K. Subban turns the puck over against Colorado, or the hit on Subban by Iginla. Your Hab practices are too SOFT, so you won’t have to worry about anyone getting hurt there. Fortunately, we have enough depth to make-up for Krejci’s injury, not like your Hab defense. As far as Pouliot is concerned, we can’t get rid of all those bad habits in a month. The antics of some Red Sox pitchers will NEVER happen with Bruins. If they do, we’ll ship them off to Montreal. Remember, Guy Lafleur is now a Bruin fan.
And that’s why people make fun of Canadians. What a moron.
So are all the Boston fans over the choke of the Red Sox yet. That had to hurt big time. The biggest flop in modern day history I think you would all agree.
As for the Bruins, it looks like with their MVP no longer the main man with the NHL (Colon Campbell) that the Bruins are no better than an average team. Now that they need to play hockey following the NHL rules instead of resorting to their goon tactics and getting away with everything, they are struggling big time. They need to take their goonery out on their own teammates and hurt guys like Krecji in practice just so that they won’t get suspended.
McQuid has to be the most clumsy player in the NHL. It is actually comical to watch him. If he did suffer a head injury instead of a neck injury, the Bruins should get Dr. Recchi on the case ASAP.
Well enjoy the game tonight. How is everyone enjoying Pouliot?
PatD, McQuaid’s injury is a ‘?’… he looked like the last man out of the pub, after ‘last call’.
Kaberle, 0-1-1, -5, has a long way to go toward earning his $’s from the ‘Canes. Hopefully,the B’s forwards jump all over him and send his plus/minus deeper into the negative region tonight.
Is anyone else a little puzzled by the McQuaid injury reports? The way he went down and then reacted it sure looked like a head injury to me. Now I know every head injury is unique but he was knocked loopy! He fought for the puck with Ferrence and then stood there like a statue after the whistle. Yet he has a neck injury? Weird. On the injury front I can’t wait for Kampfer to get back…he looked great in the 2 preseason games that I saw. And Krejci is Krejci…as well as Seguin is playing we need Krejci back to have a legit chance at a another cup run. Good to see Rask getting another start as he really didn’t deserve the “L” in the Avs game.
