The Bruins today assigned forward Jordan Caron to their Providence (AHL) farm club.
This is the second straight season that Caron broke camp with the parent club but failed to stick.
In four games this season, Caron hadn’t recorded a point and was minus-2. He’d been relegated to a healthy scratch the last two games after the return of David Krejci from injury, as the Bruins are trying to give free-agent signee Benoit Pouliot every opportunity to earn his lineup spot.
Last season, Caron played in 19 of the Bruins’ first 20 games before suffering an injury. He posted 3-3-6 totals and a plus-4 rating. He played one more NHL game before he was sent to Providence Dec. 6. He returned to Boston once at midseason because of an injury and then was a member of the “Black Aces” in the playoffs.
Today for the P-Bruins Caron was plus-1 with an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to Albany.

In fairness to Pouliot, he made a nice tip on a Corvo shot, got stoned in front by Niemi and never got the puck on a couple of odd man rushes last game. He still has problems staying up on his skates, after hits(a hab habit?).
Didn’t PC bring Pouliot in for his scoring potential as a 1st round draft pick? He’s getting the chance to show his “stuff”. I’d guess these two hab games are going to be important for Pouliot and Caron.

Mostly because it’s pretty easy to do for them right now by comparison to giving Knight a chance.

I think Caron just wasn’t skating up to snuff. He looked like a pylon far more frequently than an NHLer these past few games. He’ll get his chance, but he has to earn and keep it. Pouloit has no finish, but he does look like a hockey player at least.
I would think Hamill would get a shot well before Knight.
Caron had a sick saucer pass to Zach Hamill for his goal today. He looked very impressive, and showed hustle on the ice today. He shared a line with Hamill and Cunningham. Sauve has an injury not sure what. He didn’t play today (Sunday).
If Caron was a flavour he’d be vanilla. Knight may be the next Burridge but not a top six.

Anybody know anything about Maxime Sauve? He’s missed the last 3 P-B games.
Caron wasn’t Impressive, Pouliot is way better for the team then Caron, with his speed and physical play he is making a difference it just isnt on the score sheet yet, Now why the heck couldn’t they given Jared Knight a shot this year, Wasted that ten game tryout. Same thing would have happened.
I’m disappointed that Caron wasn’t given more of a chance. Sometimes upper management wants too badly to make sure their investments look good, this may be the case with Pouliot. It may be better for Caron in the long run, but I thought the good training camp would have given him a little more of a window of opportunity. Right now, the Bruins record is not that impressive.
