It’s time for the return of everyone’s favorite weekly election: Bruin of the Week.
Despite the Bruins losing two of their three games, there are several worthy candidates to choose from.
Chris Kelly has enjoyed centering Milan Lucic and Tyler Seguin, and he showed it by posting 1-3-4 totals and a plus-4 rating last week. He also won 13 of 23 draws in the Bruins’ two wins and dropped the gloves with Brett Sutter in the loss to Carolina. Kelly’s goal against Toronto proved to be the game-winner.
Skating on Kelly’s wing, Lucic has erupted for 2-3-5 totals over the last two games with a plus-3 rating.
Not to be outdone, Seguin has enjoyed skating on the other side of Kelly. He posted 2-2-4 totals and a plus-4 rating the last two games. His goal against San Jose tied the game.
Tim Thomas is back into form in net. In his two games this week, a win and a loss, he stopped 52 of 57 shots (.912 save percentage), including a stop of Toronto’s Mikhail Grabovski on a crucial breakaway.
