BOSTON — Maybe an old-fashioned Original Six rivalry will be just what the Bruins need to help them get out of their early-season funk.
The Montreal Canadiens will be at TD Garden for a 7 p.m. start.
“Montreal is obviously a team we always seem to get up for,” said forward Brad Marchand, who’s been one of the culprits during the Bruins’ 3-5-0 start. “They’re a lot of fun to play against. Our fans enjoy it, so hopefully we can find a way to get some energy and to have a good game.”
The Bruins will probably stick with their tweaked forward line from yesterday’s practice, while it will be Max Pacioretty’s first game on the same ice as Zdeno Chara since the Chara hit from last March. With less fanfare, Benoit Pouliot will play against his old team, the Habs, for the first time tonight as well.
Adam McQuaid should return to the Bruins’ lineup.

Cormac,
You’ll never pass the smell test:)
RD,
I have no problem with posts by anybody or any particular team fan on this site. Reparte is good and speech is still free. You’re an admitted hab fan and your ‘snake oil’ video(my opinion) post was, in your comment “to get the juices flowing”…well it did. Complaining about a B’s fan(me), posting a B’s video, on a B’s Blog, in response, as being “self aggrandizing” doesn’t pass the ‘smell test’.
It was meant to “get the juices flowing” for all the “B’s” fans here. If it bothered you, then it did its job, as yours did.
So let’s move on, OK?
Cormac,
I’m just pushing your buttons. The more mature fans here can appreciate the fact that there is more to the rivalry than that 7-0 game. It dates back for decades and has been back and forth for a long time. It’s a rivalry that deserves some respect and I found your choice of video to be way too self aggrandizing. It’s even worse given the outcome of the game don’t you think? It would be like editing a video of Ali – Frazier and only show the punches landed by one of the boxers.
RD,
I viewed you’re video but preferred the March 24th game video,..so what?
You initiated these back-and-forth comments because you had a problem with a video post? Isn’t it time for you to got over it?
No I’m not confused at all. You can read my posts. I’m perfectly coherent.
I posted a video of the two teams hammering away at each other to try to build up the mood for the game. You put up a one sided video that only showed 1/2 of the rivalry.
If you don’t understand my references and why your film was simply for your gratification, that’s your problem.
RD,
Last time I checked the name of this blog is “The Bruins Blog”….you’re more than a little bit confused
.
Sorry Cormac but that was positively black and gold self pleasure. You might not like the term but that’s what you did all over Matt’s blog here:)
RD,
So that is what the fans of bleu, blanc et rouge call it when the B’s give the habs a game beatdown? Only a hab fan would make that connection.
Cormac,
Sure, the habs one favored the habs at the end, but it was still fairly balanced. Yours was black and gold masturbation.
Bruins16,
Yeah, PK will never be mistaken for a great fighter but PK and Brad have had a thing going on since PK landed that big open ice check on Marchand.
Marchand showed some class at the beginning of the fight. PK threw a ridiculous haymaker to start the fight and Marchand could have easily pounced and got in some shots. Instead he let PK square up and have a proper fight. The fight itself was more even than the crowd would let you believe. Both of Marchand’s big rights that made the crowd go nuts were complete misses. I still give the fight to Marchand on narrow decision (mainly cause you guys will argue too much otherwise). Still, PK gave you what you wanted and Marchand is much tougher than his size would indicate. PJ Stock and Tie Domi were around Marchand’s size so height and weight isn’t everything.
I went to high school with PJ Stock btw. Saw some guys duct tape him to a flag pole once. Who knew he’d end up so tough.
RD,
Don’t try the ‘used car salesman pitch’ on me with your posted video, as being fair and unbiased. It ended in “hab homerism”.
As far as tonight, your habs played a good game….the B’s and their PP were brutal.
RD
Pouliot is not our biggest problem. I’d rather see Caron get three games back to back, but I still can’t blame Pouliot. I don’t see that much happening with Corvo. I’d like to see the defense on the PP unit be Bergeron and Boychuk. They’d played together in the later stages of the playoffs and they’d looked good. Other than that, I think Sidenberg and Bergeron played well and you can’t fault Thomas. Marchand gave away 23 lbs and three inches and handled himself well. I guess you can see why P.K. Subban looks for Hal Gill or a linesman whenever Horton or Lucic are chasing him around.
Cormac,
Why you gotta be like that? My clip was fairly even between the two teams and even included the 7-0 game whereas yours was just a highlight clip of a win from last year. Kinda predictable and boring. Might as well just make it a picture of Lucic lifting the cup with Don Cherry photoshopped in… ya homer.
Hey George,
You’re a bruins fan. You can’t troll on a Bruins fan site:)
Pouliot seems to be getting worse and I don’t mean that in a gloating sense.
When we first got him, he got off to a serious hot streak and looked like a potential 20-30 goal guy. Good shot, good size…and could fight a bit. His defense seemed to be sucky but it was worth while when he was scoring.
Last year, he got worse. Because he got worse, he got 4th line assignments and 4th line minutes. As a 4th liner, you need to check hard, provide defense and nothing fancy. Pouliot is a fancy dancy guy stuck on the 4th line. This is what you guys have this year.
You give him 10 minutes or less a night with plumbers and grinders. He has no points and is a big minus. You’re not using him right and he’s not good enough to crack your top 2 lines. Trade him to Columbus for a bag of pucks. He’ll get some minutes and you don’t have to watch him anymore.
RD, This is one is better.

RD, no troll honest questions for you: How has Cole fit into the team so far? And after the game is over any thoughts on what Pouliot looks like this year compared to the last couple.
Just to get the juices flowing for the match:

Habs have had a terrible start…worse than the Bruins even!
Hopefully both teams put on a good show without any serious injuries.
Any idea who will be in goal, Matt? Boston.com had Tuukka in, but I’ve heard a few different things.
