The Bruins’ best defenseman (possibly the best blueliner in the NHL) and their top line were at their best tonight in Toronto, and that spelled inevitable doom for the homestanding Maple Leafs.
Milan Lucic scored twice, David Krejci registered three points and Zdeno Chara added a goal and an assist in the Bruins’ 6-3 victory over Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.

Two of the Bruins’ brightest future stars are going to compete Dec. 10-14 for the opportunity to represent Team Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012 in Calgary and Edmonton.
Defenseman Dougie Hamilton and forward Ryan Spooner were both invited to Team Canada’s selection camp in Calgary. The camp consists of 41 players.

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that Andrew Ference took a maintenance day today and will be back on the ice for practice tomorrow.
Ference was the only player missing for the Bruins at Ristuccia Arena.

WILMINGTON, Mass. — After taking off Sunday, the red-hot Bruins returned to practice today at Ristuccia Arena.
Only Andrew Ference wasn’t on the ice.
The Bruins’ winning streak ended at 10 last week, but their points streak continued all the way to 12 after they beat Winnipeg Saturday.
As expected of a team that’s playing so well, there were many worthy candidates for Bruin of the Week and I narrowed the field down to four nominees after a four-game week.

BOSTON — After going with Tuukka Rask for their Black Friday loss to Detroit, the Bruins are going to start Tim Thomas — who’s second in the NHL in goals-against average and save percentage — tonight at the TD Garden against Winnipeg.
The Jets have picked up at least a point in their last five games, while the Bruins are on a 11-game point streak.

BOSTON — The Thanksgiving Showdown is not going to be a battle of Tim Thomas against his hometown team.
Tuukka Rask will start in net against Detroit today at the TD Garden, as the Bruins try to extend their 10-game winning streak.
After they sank to the bottom of the Eastern Conference late last month, all the Bruins wanted to do was make it into the top eight by the time Thanksgiving rolled around.
Boy, did they underestimate how much ground they could make up.

Sometimes it’s best to expect the unexpected.
Like maybe there won’t be any fighting in the Bruins-Buffalo tilt tonight, and the two teams will just stage a spirited affair between a couple skilled clubs with a lot at stake in terms of the standings.
