BOSTON — For at least one night, the 2011-12 Bruins showed glimpses that they are in fact mostly the same team that won the Stanley Cup just five months ago in Vancouver.
Five different players scored goals, 13 different players recorded a point, and the Bruins produced a solid forecheck and net-front presence in downing Ottawa, 5-3, at TD Garden tonight.
Ottawa had won six in a row. The Bruins head lost five in a row.
Johnny Boychuk scored what proved to be the game-winner 6:41 into the third period just 1:37 after Ottawa had tied the game. Here’s my NHL.com game story.
