You vote: Bruin of the Week

As the Bruins continue to get better results, it gets tougher and tougher to pick a Bruin of the Week or even to narrow down the nominees.

But here are last week’s candidates after the Bruins went 2-0-0 and outscored their opponents 12-3.

Now second on the team with six goals, Milan Lucic scored three goals in the two games. He added an assist and was plus-3, and he fired six shots on net. He also recorded five hits.

On the strength of his first NHL hat trick, second-year sensation Tyler Seguin now leads the team in goals. He posted 3-1-4 totals and a plus-3 rating last week.

Patrice Bergeron has been an amazing two-way force this season. Last week he posted 1-3-4 totals and a plus-4 rating. He fired five shots on goal and won 17 of 35 faceoffs.

With the Bruins desperate for a win, Johnny Boychuk delivered the game-winning goal against Ottawa. That was his only point of the week, but he was plus-3 with two blocked shots and five shots on goal. He also was instrumental in keeping Jason Spezza’s line off the score sheet against Ottawa and helped limit a score-less Phil Kessel to just two shots on net.

Toronto couldn’t solve Tim Thomas, who posted his first shutout of the year with 25 saves against the Maple Leafs. That followed Thomas’ 23-save performance (against 26 shots) in the win over Ottawa.
