Battle of back-ups, Taylor vs. Tyler set for Bruins-Oilers game

Rask/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — It appears that for the first time this season Tuukka Rask will get consecutive starts in the Bruins’ crease.
The Finnish netminder was the first goaltender off the ice after Boston’s morning skate today in preparation for tonight’s game with Edmonton at the TD Garden.
The Oilers will counter with their No. 2, as Devan Dubnyk gets the start.
Of course, regardless of who was going to play goal, the netminder battle was never going to be the marquee attraction tonight. That’s the battle between Tyler Seguin and Taylor Hall, the top two picks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Here’s my NHL.com story on the subject.
As for the Bruins’ injury situation, Daniel Paille is out but Rich Peverley is a game-time decision. If Peverley can’t play, Zach Hamill is here on emergency recall to step in on the wing.
Bruins16 I agree Thomas is the #1. The team had a track record earlier of not giving Rask any goal support when he played. In my opinion, if the offense is racking up goals like they have been I would take either goalie. It’s when the offense doesn’t produce I would much rather see Thomas in net.
George
Thomas is our number one and he should get the start tonight.
It would be great to see the team play well for Rask 2 games in a row. Can’t wait for this one, I’m sure the Oilers are going to bring all they have against the champs. Hopefully the top 2 lines keep up their play, especially the Bergeron line which has a scoring chance every shift.
PatrickD,
CHEERS, Slainte!
Tomorrow we’ll read about the Taylor/Tyler match up, which should be a good one. Personally, I think the Dubnyk/Rask match up will be better.
@Cormac… Moog will root for the team opposite the one Bill Ranford is rooting for.
@Cormac, you are showing your age with that reference…and I am showing mine by getting it.
An already good match up made more entertaining. I wonder who Andy Moog will be cheering for?
