Thomas/By S. Bradley

BOSTON — As expected, Tim Thomas is going to get the start in net for the Bruins tonight when they host Buffalo at the TD Garden.

Thomas’ last appearance was a week ago in Toronto, where he shut out the Maple Leafs.

As I wrote for today’s Boston Herald, Thomas has enjoyed success in the past when he’s had a week off between starts.

Andrew Ference is out with a lower-body injury, so Steven Kampfer will get in the lineup for the first time since Oct. 22 (six games). Rich Peverley will be a game-time decision returned after two games out with an undisclosed injury.
