You vote: Bruin of the Week
It’s that time of the week again, and like last week the Bruins are red-hot.
That makes narrowing the field for Bruin of the Week even more difficult. There’s no shortage of candidates.
Defenseman Joe Corvo seems to be finally settling in as a Bruin. During the Bruins’ 3-0-0 week he totaled four assists and fired nine shots on goal. He posted a plus-4 rating.
The Bruins’ leading scorer Tyler Seguin ran his point streak to six games with 4-2-6 totals this week. He was also plus-4 with nine shots on net. Two of his four goals proved to be the game-winner.
After a recent slump, Brad Marchand broke out in a big way. The speedy winger posted 3-3-6 totals with a plus-5 rating. He fired eight shots on net.
Boston’s success tends to always come with an uptick in offense from the defenseman. In addition to Corvo’s emergence, Johnny Boychuk has been contributing. He scored one goal and assisted on a second this week while posting a plus-2 rating. He blocked eight shots and threw 11 hits while playing more than 20 minutes a night.
So I ask you readers of TheBruinsBlog.net:

Actually that was the wrong link above; apologies. There’s so much offense going on right now that I lose track! The play I referred to involved an impossible finesse pass to Seguin from Bergy.
Hands-down, Segs. Unless we take a close look at the miraculous plays & passes Bergeron has been making, without which there would be no scoring.

I still chose Seguin and he very likely deserves it, but it’s strange that Bergy wasn’t on the list.

As much as I wanted to vote for Destroychuk, it’s Seguin. The future is now. #Seguinista

Dennis Sidenberg has played very well defensively and you haven’t given him a sniff as player of the week. However, I’m glad to see you giving Boychuk a chance at it. As well, Campell has been outstanding on the penalty kill Hopefully you keep that in mind next week. We have done a good job scoring goals, but we also have done pretty well in keeping the opponents from scoring. Remember, last year we won the Cup more with our defence than offense.
