The Bruins’ winning streak ended at 10 last week, but their points streak continued all the way to 12 after they beat Winnipeg Saturday.

As expected of a team that’s playing so well, there were many worthy candidates for Bruin of the Week and I narrowed the field down to four nominees after a four-game week.

Last week’s winner Chris Kelly continued to roll with two goals against the Jets and three points on the week. He was plus-2 with eight shots on goal and won 14 of 27 draws. His goals against Winnipeg tied and won the game.

Kelly’s linemate Rich Peverley posted four assists and a plus-2 rating in the four games. He was also dominant at the dots with 29 faceoff wins in 41 attempts (71 percent).

Tim Thomas played three of the four games and won all three. He shut out Montreal with 33 saves and for the week stopped 104 of 109 shots (.954 save percentage). He also won the shootout in Buffalo with five saves on five shots.

Captain Zdeno Chara has emerged as possibly the best two-way defenseman in the league with a bushel of points to go with his defensive shutdown ability. His goal against Winnipeg got the Bruins rolling in the right direction and his goal in Buffalo tied the game in the third period. For the week he was plus-1.
