Two of the Bruins’ brightest future stars are going to compete Dec. 10-14 for the opportunity to represent Team Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012 in Calgary and Edmonton.
Defenseman Dougie Hamilton and forward Ryan Spooner were both invited to Team Canada’s selection camp in Calgary. The camp consists of 41 players.
Hamilton, Boston’s first-round pick last summer (ninth overall), has been sensational for Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League this season. In 25 games, Hamilton has put up 11-27-38 totals.
Spooner, a second-round pick in 2010, is also enjoying a fine season. With Kingston of the OHL, Spooner has skated in 24 games with 11-16-27 totals.
Cormac – can’t see that working for Hamill – especially in the B’s system. He just doesn’t fit. If he works on his feigning and fainting, he could make a great Canadian however.
Bo,
Koko ‘could’ turn out to be the steal of the draft. Isn’t Hamill your all time favorite B’s draft pick? (j/k)
I’m hoping the switch from center to wing works out for Hamill.
Who’s Hamill again?
Anyone checked out Koko’s number’s lately? Kid’s a playa.
Hamilton, Spooner and Knight make the B’s look pretty good down the road. Hopefully, Sauve can stay healthy and Hamill keeps up his good play.
Dougie is tearing up the OHL. Will be exciting to see what this guy can bring to training camp next year. The last Phil the Thrill gift may be a valuable asset indeed.
