You can call this week’s winner the Bruin of the Week or Destroyer of Leafs.
The Bruins’ only action this week was a home-and-home sweep, which ran their points streak to 14 games (13-0-1) and earned them sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division.
Milan Lucic enjoyed a great two games with two goals and two assists. He fired six shots on net and was credited with five hits in addition to a solid plus-3 rating.
While he continued to play dominating defense, Zdeno Chara chipped in on offense with a goal and an assist. He was plus-5 with six shots on net. In his own end, he helped limit Phil Kessel to just one assist in the two games. Chara also blocked six shots and was credited with five hits.
Some of the help Chara got shutting down Kessel was from his defense partner Johnny Boychuk. The blueliner scored a goal and was plus-5 in the series. He fired eight shots on goal, blocked three shots and threw three hits.
David Krejci celebrated his new contract extension with an offensive outburst that featured two goals and three assists. He was plus four with five shots on net.
So readers of TheBruinsBlog.net, I ask you:
Who should be the Bruin of the Week?

- Zdeno Chara (21%, 34 Votes)

That’s interesting, Anonymous. We can define this week’s winner the Bruin of the Week or Destroyer of Leafs and this week is a great week for all candidates….lets see what happened in next week.
Matt
I am appreciative of the fact that your nominations, for Bruin of the week, are not just the goal scorers and the goalies. Chara and Boychuk had a good week, and probably as good as any NHL defensive pairing in the past month.
Was going to give it Chara at first, but in light of Krejci’s deal it has to be him
I voted for Chara as well. My thinking was that without Zdeno smothering “Side-Show Phil” the offense put up by the B’s may not have been enough.
I don’t know – one of these weeks we have to credit Chara for swallowing up most of what other teams present as offense. He gets my vote.
Certainly a good week for all candidates, but Krejci stands out for me.
