‘Mild’ concussion for Bruins’ Paille

Paille/By S. Bradley
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins head coach Claude Julien confirmed today after practice at Ristuccia Arena that forward Daniel Paille was diagnosed with a mild concussion.
Paille did not practice today and will not accompany the team on its road trip to Columbus for its game Saturday night.
Paille was hit by Florida’s Krys Barch in the first period Thursday night and did not return to the game. In his place, expect Jordan Caron to skate with Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton. Caron should also get some penalty-kill time.
Go figure, Kaberle has a 2 point night. I was alluding to Bobby Orr with the knee issues but Kluzak is an excellent example…as is Cam Neely.
I can’t believe anyone would want to see the leafs win the cup.
JPT:
Good luck with Kaberle
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone realize that it’s been almost two decades since Montreal has won a cup? Amazing.
Of course I’d rather see the Leafs win before Montreal.
Jean T hits the Canadian ripple a little hard. I could never imagine what it feels like to be a Canadians fan and have to deal with watching big Z for 28 mins a night, or the rest of the cast of characters that seperate us from the Habs!
Hey RD. Not sure what Gauthier was thinking trading Spacek for Kaberle based on the contracts. Kaberle is only 33. Should have a few good years left. Perhaps he hopes he will play as he did with the Leafs. Too bad about Markov’s misfortunes. Hate too see good players careers threatened (or ended) prematurely no matter who they play for. I remember the promise of Gord Kluzak & Normand Leveille. Habs always give us all we can handle no matter who is on their roster.
JPT
Well were not getting rid of those guys. Those are the type of guys that win Cups. If we did, I would take a hiatus from hockey. Just keep that nice picture of Bergeron holding the Cup, where you used to keep your picture of Guy Lafleur, nice and polished. Good luck with Kaberle!
JPT spell Gauthier correctly; don’t jump off the bandwagon just yet!
Ha Ha Bruin16,
As much as I dislike the Kaberle trade and have no idea what Goatier is doing the only way I will ever cheer for the Bruins is if they get rid of Chara, Marchand, Lucic, Thornton, Boychuk, Campbell, Horton, McQuaid and Ference. Then I might think about cheering for them.
@Bruins16,
It would be good to see Sauve get a chance.
hey RD, if its any consolation the Habs manage to give the B’s hell no matter what their record is. and yes, you have at least my sympathies if you lose a talented d-man to retirement due to knee problems, I have felt that pain a few times since SC#5
Cormac
My vote goes to Max Sauve. If you go off stats, then it would be Carter Camper or Zach Hamill. Both are too small to fit any long term plans of the Bruins. As well, Max had a good training camp.
RD
When I used the term “you”, I was meaning the Hab nation (fans). Also, I vote “non” on trading for P.K. Subban.
@Bo,
Kaberle’s UFA contract has been used as an example of a poor GM signing by fans, Rutherford himself and the media, including Montreal’s…go figure.
Kaberle? Even his playoff beard sucked! Sorry RD, if any group can sympathize with what’s going on up Nort… its those of us who have have been Bs fans from ’73-2006. What a mess! Look on the bright side – at least you can look forward to some excitement at the trade deadline….
Paille is gone a minimum of 7 days. Caron gets the opportunity to play. I wonder who PC will call up from the P-B’s?
Not to hijack the board or anything but here’s something to think about.
The Canadiens will have to come up with enough money before next season to sign Subban, Price and Gorges. One of those 3 will not likely return simply due to cap issues now.
Hey Bruins16… “I” didn’t trade for anything.
I have no way to explain what Gauthier is doing. He has so much money tied up in toxic contracts that I’m starting to hope and pray the habs can finish near the bottom. For one, the fans get big heads when the team wins 2 in a row and second, we need to start drafting great prospects. Hopefully by the time the draft comes around, Gauthier will be out of work.
@David
Seriously??? You would take Subban? Maybe you’re not one of his biggest detractors but he wouldn’t be popular as a bruin despite his talent. Plus, we lose him, what do we have left?
@Cormac
I have to think this is the only possible explanation. I’m guessing Gauthier is thinking Kaberle will be a puck moving defenseman who will make that nice 1st pass. He didn’t really end up adding much value to the Boston lineup and I’m quite worried about his defensive lapses.
As for Markov, I think people are starting to wonder if he is one more injury away from retiring. I think Boston fans know better than anyone how sad it is to lose a talented defenseman to knee problems.
get well soon, Danny, from someone who knows whst a great skater you are. and a damn good shot!
Kaberle going to the habs…either Markov won’t be back in 4-6 weeks or they’re hoping Kaberle just needed a change of scenery.
Oh well RD, at least you guys didn’t give up a couple of draft picks and a prospect for him. Still, the logic there is beyond me.
Meanwhile, get well soon Danny!
RD
I can’t believe you traded for him. He doesn’t want any part of physical play. The one saving grace is that you have a good goalie that can maybe cover up for his mistakes. He didn’t produce on the power play last year which has been well documented. This may force you and JPT into the Bruin camp yet.
I’d take him back if you packaged him with Subban or a couple first round choices.
Maybe you know better RD, but what in the blazes is your GM thinking? He traded a “bad” contract that was over at the end of the year for a worse one that’s over in a few years. He can’t wanna do a buyout that’s not against the cap since he MUST be saving that for Gomez. Are you really getting so few points from your blueliners that this is worth the risk?
As a side note: Kudos to Mr Rutherford on making a 3 year bad risk into a 1-year thing.
@RD, yeah he was great. Really lit it up on PP. Solid in his own end, good decisions, a real force to be reckoned with. And only three years at 4.25M or something left on his contract…I had heard rumors that Gauthier had his head on the block…this may have just signed the execution papers.
Yeah we managed to get rid of Spacek only to pickup up Kaberle.
He was good for you guys last year, right?….right?
I just read that Kaberle is a Hab now! A new reason to hate that guy I guess.
I would suspect Shanahan will at least have a discussion since a penalty was called on the play.
It was charging and the principle point of contact was the head. I wonder if Shanahan will do something?
