Hamill/By S. Bradley
In a sign they’re concerned that Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille won’t be able to play against Los Angeles tomorrow night, the Bruins tonight recalled forward Zach Hamill from the Providence (AHL) farm club on an emergency basis.
Campbell missed practice today with a foot injury he suffered Saturday night in Columbus. Paille practiced today for the first time since he suffered a mild concussion last week, but still has to pass some tests to get game clearance.
Hamill was up with the Bruins earlier this season, and he recorded one assist and a plus-3 rating in two games.
In other news, winger Brad Marchand was finally fined for his slew-footing incident with Pittsburgh’s Matt Niskanen last Monday. Marchand is now $2,500 lighter in the wallet — the maximum allowed for such an incident under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

@BruinsRock, well I have to disagree with you. It wasn’t that bad because the opposing player side stepped it. And yes people get caught like that all the time but I rarely see a player lift his leg and then replant it in front of the oncoming player. A shift in weight to try to finish your check is one thing but Lucic stuck it out there and if you watch the reverse angle he has an almost relieved look on his face when he misses. Which shows some good sense I suppose. And yes it may not have warranted a suspension but with the present climate and Lucic already dodging a bullet this year (Miller) I think he is playing with fire. I am not trying to hang Lucic, I love the guys grit and and play, I just think he gets a little too wound up at times. The same way Marchand does and CJ had no problem sitting him for a period. I just think before he ends up hurting someone, and therefore hurting the bruins by being unavailable, he needs to settle down. The guy proved last year that he can play in this league as a true power forward. He just needs to be on the ice not in the penalty box or press box to do it. Mark my words, the next time he steps outside the lines Shanny is going to throw the book at him…a book Shanny appears to be writing and rewriting as the season goes along…but that is another can of worms all together.
Hey PatrickD,
Well said regarding both Marchand and Lucic. The danger of those plays aren’t limited to the targeted player either. There are more than a few players that “go low” (especially around the net)already in the league.
The Potter “knee” on Booth last week was wicked. Booth is out 4-6 weeks, I believe.
Slainte!
I watched the game as well and the knee wasn’t anywhere near as bad ad you describe and certainly would never warrant a suspension He stuck out his leg a little like many plays every night . Not even close to suspension type of play
That should say “got off easy”…damn fingers.
Marchy got of easy in my opinion. Also I can’t believe no one has called out Lucic for the attempted knee in the Columbus game. I love when he plays physical but far too often lately he has let his emotions get the better of him and done something stupid/dangerous. The 3 points were nice the other night but the knee was way over the line. I can live with the double minor he took earlier as he was getting as good as he was giving on that play. But the attempted knee was so stupid. Luckily he missed or we could be facing a few games without two of our biggest guys what with Chara injured. Time for Lucic to watch a game maybe? He would be missed but unless he reins it in he could be watching a few games courtesy of some Shanny justice. And after the uproar over the non suspension on the Miller hit I imagine Shanny is looking for a reason to sit him for a few games.
