The Bruins have won six in a row, they’re on top of the Eastern Conference and several of their players are red-hot.
That’s why picking a Bruin of the Week is going to be difficult after a two-win, no-loss week.
No one, however, is hotter than Brad Marchand right now. The speedy winger recorded his first NHL hat trick against Florida. For the week he put up 4-2-6 totals and a plus-5 rating. His goal against Montreal was the game-winner.
Benoit Pouliot has been a pleasant surprise for Boston the last couple weeks. He recorded one goal in each victory, including the beautiful end-to-end score against the Panthers. That was one of the prettiest goals by a Bruins player this century. He fired five shots on net in the two games and was plus-2.
It’s hard to give Dennis Seidenberg a lot of recognition for his great play because what he does rarely can be quantified. Last week, though, he scored his first goal and added an assist against Florida. He was plus-3 in 43:55 of ice time over the two games.
Fellow defenseman Andrew Ference has been providing plenty of quantifiable production to the Bruins’ cause with a four-game point streak. Last week, he recorded two assists and a plus-2 rating in 34:26 of ice time in the victories.
So I ask you readers of TheBruinsBlog.net:
Who should be the Bruin of the Week?
- Brad Marchand (76%, 121 Votes)
- Benoit Pouliot (21%, 34 Votes)
- Dennis Seidenberg (2%, 3 Votes)
- Andrew Ference (1%, 2 Votes)
Total Voters: 160

I voted for Marchand, mainly because he had the best statistical week.
However, the whole Bruins team is on fire. The Bruins are killing it this year and there is no stopping this team right now. The Bruins are:
-#1 in the NHL in goals scored per game (3.52)
-#1 in the NHL in goals against per game (1.88) ridiculously low
-#1 +/- differential (+44) 2nd place is DET at +33
-#3 PK in the NHL (88.9%)
-#10 PP in the NHL (19.4%) Normally the achilles heal of this team, when operating at this level this gives them more than enough PP goals with their defensive system to win in the playoffs.
Figure Marchand is a no-brainer here. When you win player of the week for the whole league, it would seem awkward not to be consider your team’s top star. Not to mention, in two wins, he had the GWG in the first and a hatty plus 5pts in the other.
Pouliot’s getting comfy in Black & Gold. Last week for all star fan balloting. Vote for your Bruins!
Hungus – Thanks a million times! Nifty was SO much fun to watch.
POO BEAR gets my vote. he’s been getting that first goal and the b’s don’t look back after the first goal.
shame that between him, krejci and marchand, none will wear #16.

Big time Bruins fan here. I gotta go with Brad Marchand even if I don’t like some of his on ice antics.
I’ll go with Marchand. He’s a local boy from where I live and he was named the NHL 1st star of the week today 🙂
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! the fans are as cool as the team…….
It’s really the whole team. Marchand, pouliot insane but really everyone down to the TD Garden Zamboni drivers. This team is insane……..
