Ho-hum. The Bruins went on the road to face the top team in the Eastern Conference tonight.
It was supposed to be a stiff test, but as usual the Bruins made short work of the Pittsburgh Penguins. They are now just one point back of the Pens for the conference lead.

Krejci/By S. Bradley
A great week just got even sweeter for Bruins center David Krejci.
After he recorded five points in two Bruins wins and signed a new three-year contract extension, Krejci probably thought things couldn’t get even better. Well, they just did.
You can call this week’s winner the Bruin of the Week or Destroyer of Leafs.
The Bruins’ only action this week was a home-and-home sweep, which ran their points streak to 14 games (13-0-1) and earned them sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division.

BOSTON — Bruins head coach Claude Julien has opted to go with Tuukka Rask in net instead of the red-hot Tim Thomas against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the TD Garden.
Thomas has won nine in a row.

Two of the Bruins’ 2011 draft picks have been on fire seemingly since the first day of the 2011-12 season.
Both Dougie Hamilton and Brian Ferlin were rewarded for their efforts with grand recognition yesterday.

BOSTON — Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas and Toronto netminder James Reimer were the first puck-stoppers off the ice after their respective teams’ morning skates at TD Garden.
So you already have two interesting storylines for tonight’s Bruins-Maple Leafs tilt before the puck even drops at 7 p.m.

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Through three meetings with Toronto this season, the Bruins are 3-0-0 and have outscored the Maple Leafs 19-5.
So heading into tomorrow night’s clash of the Northeast Division rivals, the key for Boston is to not let the aggregate scores fool them into thinking they are that much more superior than the Leafs. After all, the Leafs are only one point behind them in the standings and will be out for revenge at the TD Garden.

Krejci/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — David Krejci has never shied away from pressure.
If anything, as his postseason performance last season during the Bruins’ run to the Stanley Cup championship proved, he thrives when the stakes are highest.

Ferlin/By S. Bradley
Brian Ferlin’s first month of NCAA hockey has his collegiate playing career off to a rousing start.
And today the Bruins 2011 fourth-round draft pick received some recognition for his hot play.

Tim Thomas is going to have to find new sources of motivation because the Rodney Dangerfield “no respect” aspect of his career is long over.
The two-time winner of the Vezina Trophy today received more accolades today, as the NHL named him its First Star of the month of November.

Kampfer/By S. Bradley
Bruins defenseman Steven Kampfer and forward Jordan Caron have been on the sidelines lately, so Boston has decided to ship both out to the Providence (AHL) farm club to get some action.
Both players are expected to play for the P-Bruins Friday night in their home game against Connecticut.

Krejci/By S. Bradley
While the rumor mongers were devising different plots to get David Krejci out of town, the Bruins were working on keeping their No. 1 center in the mix.
Today Boston announced a three-year contract extension with Krejci.
