WILMINGTON, Mass. — While staying in the NHL is the dream of every young hockey player, today’s demotion to the Providence (AHL) farm club by the Bruins might be somewhat welcomed by Jordan Caron.
After all, he avoids the teams road trip to New Jersey.
Caron was officially assigned after practice, although head coach Claude Julien said the decision was made last night. So the Bruins travel to face the Devils Wednesday with 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders. They’ll return home after the game and face Calgary Thursday night at the TD Garden. People have gone to greater lengths to miss a trip to Newark.
Caron had just been recalled Monday.
