Caron spared trip to New Jersey as Bruins send him down

Caron/By S. Bradley
WILMINGTON, Mass. — While staying in the NHL is the dream of every young hockey player, today’s demotion to the Providence (AHL) farm club by the Bruins might be somewhat welcomed by Jordan Caron.
After all, he avoids the teams road trip to New Jersey.
Caron was officially assigned after practice, although head coach Claude Julien said the decision was made last night. So the Bruins travel to face the Devils Wednesday with 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders. They’ll return home after the game and face Calgary Thursday night at the TD Garden. People have gone to greater lengths to miss a trip to Newark.
Caron had just been recalled Monday.
Just a note on some of the Bruins prospects at world juniors (I’m sure the Canadian followers of the site know this better than me):
Dougie Hamilton and Alexander Khoklachev each had a goal and an assist in Russia’s 6-5 win yesterday. It’s great to see our young prospects playing so well in playoff-type environments!
Hey guys, just a reminder that today is the last day of All-Star voting. Thomas is now ahead of Reimer. Let`s keep it that way
I agree…plus the team down here isn’t so good this year….we need good help!
Good call on this talent. I would rather see him get 20-25 mins of ice in Providence then 5 min with the B’s. He will get better and better with more ice time.
