Bergeron/By S. Bradley

Patrice Bergeron was actually held point-less in two straight games before last week began.

That slump didn’t last long.

Bergeron posted back-to-back two-goal games and finished with 4-2-6 totals in Boston’s three games against New Jersey, Calgary and Vancouver. For his efforts, readers of TheBruinsBlog.net voted Bergeron the Bruin of the Week:

Bergeron might’ve surrendered the league faceoff percentage lead to fellow Selke Trophy hopeful Jonathan Toews over the weekend, but he’s still winning draws at a remarkable 58.1 percent clip — remarkable because of all the other great things he does for Boston. Bergeron is second on the team with 34 points, first with 23 goals and has accumulated an amazing plus-26 rating while battling some of the league’s best offensive players. He’s the team’s ice-time leader overall and shorthanded among forwards.

In every way, this has been a great season for Bergeron. And last week’s production was just his latest dose of excellence.
