Hamill/By S. Bradley
The Bruins made some lineup shifts Sunday in Washington and they paid off with a 4-1 win over the Capitals.
In addition to the swap of Chris Kelly and David Krejci as centers for the first and third line, respectively, the Bruins also replaced Zach Hamill in the lineup with Jordan Caron.
Hamill’s healthy scratch seems to have been the first step toward shipping him out of town, either to the Providence (AHL) farm club or another organization. According to the Twitter feed of TSN reporter Bob McKenzie, Hamill was placed on waivers today. If no one claims him, he can then be assigned to the P-Bruins.
In 16 games for the Bruins — his longest NHL look in this his fourth professional season — Hamill has posted just 0-2-2 totals with a plus-3 rating. Basically, he’s shown very little of what prompted the Bruins to use a first-round pick on him in 2007. Should a team claim him, it would have to pick up his entire salary and cap hit.

Hamill definitely seems like a miss and hasn’t been the player that people were expecting.
perhaps i do, but call me crazy he’s just a winger. not exactly the most difficult position defensively. if you’re a winger and your strength is defense that’s not all that impressive.
Yukster
I agree with you on Hamill, but lets give Caron some games and see how he does. His training camp was pretty good and he has shown some grit at times.
Big Jim
I think Caron’s defense is better than you give him credit, and hopefully he’s more consistent in his physical play. (He needs to be a “K-Mart Lucic” to really help the club) We are in agreement on Hamill.
I don’t think Caron is a miss, but Hamill certainly is. We should call the Canes up and do a straight swap for Anthony Stewart!
Let’s hope some of these second rounders start hitting. Hamill and Caron are pure misses under Chiarelli. Good thing Peter knows how to make trades and his free agents.
good he’s garbage anyway.
