Camper/By S. Bradley
The Bruins spent today, the day after they were blanked by Minnesota, traveling to St. Louis for their game with Blues Wednesday night.
They also continued to the search for their lost offense. In their last six games, the Bruins have won just twice and scored eight goals. Both of those wins were shootouts, so the Bruins haven’t legitimately won a hockey game since Feb. 5.
Boston today recalled first-year pro Carter Camper, who through 53 games this season leads the Providence (AHL) farm club with 38 points (14 goals). The former Miami University standout, who was signed as an undrafted free agent last spring, recorded his first pro hat trick Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins now have 13 available forwards. Camper could be a scratch, but you’d have to figure the club wouldn’t have the speedster join them in the midst of its six-game road trip just to sit in the press box. Camper might not be the long-term answer for Boston’s problems while it deals with the absences of Nathan Horton and Rich Peverley, maybe the 23-year-old can at least provide a short-term spark both with his skill set and his ability to push some of the under-performing veterans for ice time.

I thought Camper looked out of place.
I disagree with all of you!!! (bicker sounds…)
Guess we all gotta make dough in the end.
patrickd, if kalman didn’t like bickering he wouldn’t allow for comments. big win.
I know what you mean RD. But MattK is busy getting paid and with all the bickering on here lately I think he has lost interest…and I don’t really blame him. But I sure do miss this blog. Anyone see Wideman get undressed in Ottawa last night…man did that look familiar.
Big win over St Louis and no post. This great blog is slipping.
Why are people all freaked out about a losing streak?! Nothing matters but how the B’s perform in the playoffs. The only real threats in the East are Pitt (only with a healthy Crosby) and maybe the NYR (who haven’t proven a thing to me). Remember, playoffs are a totally different animal and Bos will have its injured guys ready and just think–very rested too!
Not so sure he’s a speedster
Dear Claude please let this player show case his offensive talent please do not mention the word defense to him.
They said it would be tough to repeat. They weren’t kidding.
Vancouver has to feel some sort of vindication – Outside of the two injuries, it’s the Nucks that sent this club into a mind-funk from the goalies all the way up.
Why not right? Call up anyone and everyone and give them a shot while PC tries to work some magic. St. Louis’ goalies have been as good as anyone in the league for the past month so there is a huge challenge ahead, not to mention Buffalo who recently embarrassed the Bruins and then 2 games in a row vs the team who is within 2pts of the division lead. Interesting week ahead for sure.
