Leafs will remember latest loss to Bruins a little longer
It seems the Bruins did more than cost Toronto a chance to move in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
Boston also cost the Maple Leafs their second-leading scorer in addition to a key role player, who will be out for the foreseeable future.
Winger Joffrey Lupul, the Leafs today announced, will miss four to six weeks with a separated shoulder. Lupul was injured on a second-period check by Boston’s David Krejci Tuesday night and did not return to the Bruins’ 5-4 victory. Fellow forward Colby Armstrong, who did not play after a second-period fight with Dennis Seidenberg suffered a broken nose and is day-to-day. Seidenberg busted open Armstrong’s nose during the bout.
Boston is now 5-0-0 vs. Toronto this season. But the latest triumph over their rivals might’ve been the best proof that the Bruins outclass the Leafs phyiscally, and they’re starting to get their mojo back for the stretch run despite the rash of injuries Boston is dealing with.
Killer Krejci!
First he takes out Crosby, now Lupul. Who’s next?
terry were you drinking when you made that post? it doesn’t make any sense.
no the krejci hit wasn’t dirty. i’m sooooo tired of the state of hockey in that every time someone gets hit we ask if it was dirty.
Clemens,
I didn’t think it was dirty, Lupul turned into the boards at the last moment, after seeing Krejci engage, and got that shoulder crunched against glass.
They win games if they keep this mean streak stuff up. Ask Vancouver
Welcome to pro sports. A broken nose in hockey good god Terry O’reilly used to have the trainer help him dress cause he played with a seperated shoulder and could not pull jersey over his head. Maple Leafs will get very tough in future if Burke is gone and Randy can have his way. Helmutless Norris trophey winning (Pittsnurg)icon in Winnepeg who new how to get the job done.
I didn’t have a chance to watch the game, was the Krejci hit dirty or anything, or did Lupul just land awkwardly?
