Their performances this weekend with the Bruins’ Providence (AHL) farm club kind of already let the cat out of the bag.
But today the Bruins officially announced the signing of former collegiate prospects Justin Florek and Zach Trotman to their entry-level contracts. While Florek just finished his senior season at Northern Michigan, Trotman left Lake Superior State one year early.
Florek, a fifth-round pick of Boston in 2010, made his pro debut Friday night 2-2-4 totals for the P-Bruins. Trotman, the Bruins’ seventh-round pick in that same 2010 draft, debuted Saturday night and scored his first pro goal.
In related prospect news, Tim Wharnsby of CBC and Kirk Luedeke or Red Line Report both have reported Boston has signed free-agent defenseman Torey Krug out of Michigan State. Krug had 12-22-34 totals in 38 games this season as a junior.
