With the Providence (AHL) Bruins finishing their season last weekend, Boston today summoned 10 players who will skate together in Providence and stay sharp as “Black Aces” should the parent club need them during the rest of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The players are: Andrew Bodnarchuk, Carter Camper, Craig Cunningham, Josh Hennessy, Lane MacDermid, Kevan Miller, Max Sauve, Ryan Spooner, David Warsofsky, Trent Whitfield.

I didnt have the time to follow the p bruins this year, but having said that I am a little surprised colby cohen isnt on list, he was a black ace last year, statistically his season was similar. Definitely surprised Bartkowski isnt there. They were real high on him early this season and a black ace last year. Also somewhat surprised that zach hamill wasnt on list. Based on his play with the Bs im not surprised, but he played more than anyone else with the big club this year, and that experience and familiarity with the system would be important if they needed a call up. He was also black ace last yr. That said they would have to have at least 3 forward injuries for him to get a look, and if that happens the Bs are screwed anyways. A few others from last year: arniel, and the no longer Alexandrov. Also, why not keep hutchinson or Courchaine, if for no other reason than so they have someone to shoot at. Never know when a few goalies will get hurt, right?
