I really don’t like that he announced this during the cup finals. It would have been real easy for him to not do anything for a week and let the devils and kings have their time, which is a part of the reason pretty much no one outside of New York respects A-Rod after he got his leaving the Yankees announced in the middle of the world series. Given A-Rod’s was worse because it was also a self-advertisement, but it stands that the attention should be on just these two teams in the hockey world right now, not on timmy. His turn was last year, be graceful and give Quick his due.
I love the way Timmy plays, but this is classless and it makes me pretty glad timmy will probably never wear the spoked B again.
At this point, it doesn’t matter what we think. Timmy has already made that decision for us and management. He has gone from being a hero to a pretty selfish player, not thinking about the team or teammates, only himself.
I can understand wanting to reconnect with his family, friends and faith but can that not wait 1 more year. I think all of us would like the chance to spend more time with family and friends but we live in reality.
