Seguin/By S. Bradley
The signings of Gregory Campbell and Chris Kelly to multi-year contracts that keep both veterans off the free-agent market also gives the Bruins all four of their regular centers from last season on next season’s roster.
That probably means more time on the wing for natural center Tyler Seguin.
Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci are also under contract and are expected to return to the Bruins for 2012-13.
“Well, you know, [Kelly] is a center and [Rich Peverley] is a center and they’ve played wing, so for the short term, yes,” Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said about projecting Seguin as a winger. “He’s had success at the wing, and short term may be one, two, three years – who knows? At this point we don’t have any reason to put him to the middle.”

it’d be nice to see him play center. he’s so good in open space.
on another note, not that i dislike any of the forwards but at some point they can’t keep re-signing everyone. there has to be some turnover somewhere along the line.
I’d like to see Ty spend a good amount of time working on his handling skill in tight spaces. Seems to me the kid has lived and died for a long time on his speed and killer wrister, but in the NHL he seems a bit limited on his rushes and on the PP b/c he’s never really had to hone those skills.
Gonna be fun watching this kid continue to develop. I really hope he gets a chance to play with Spooner / Koko – or players with those kinds of skill sets. Plus, Spooner can actually play at Seguin’s pace which could be really interesting someday on the rush up the ice.
Day Dreaming at work…
I was one that would like to see him at center but having tyler on the wing allows him to be more offensive. The fact he can play in the middle helps in case of injuries.
Fine with me. I suspect we will hear less from the knuckle heads crying that Claude/PC are stunting his devopment by not playing him in the middle.
The kid will be deadly on the wing next year.
