WILMINGTON, Mass. — It was time for the Bruins’ prospects to move beyond the team building and practicing and actually strut their stuff in a game atmosphere with score kept at Ristuccia Arena today.

For what it’s worth, the white team beat the black team, 2-1.

“I thought it was OK. I mean, the guys were a little bit flat at times,” Providence Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said. “I think some of that has to do with the work week. They did some testing this morning. And I think, physically that doesn’t drain you, but mentally you’re focused on it for probably the last two months to make sure you test well. So once you get through that, it takes a while to get ramped up again.”

Said forward Jared Knight: “I think there was two lines on each team. So there’s not too much of a breather. It was fun, but it was tough at the same time.”

Defenseman Matt Benning had to leave the ice before the scrimmage due to a possible groin injury. Alexander Khokhlachev still isn’t taking any contact, so the sides were a little shorthanded.
