While more NHL-NHLPA negotiations wrapped up today (set to resume Aug. 22) and a lockout remains a real possibility, at least on team named Bruins in New England was able to tell us when they’ll be playing a game that counts this fall.
Boston’s AHL affiliate in Providence today released it’s 2012-13 scheduled along with the other AHL teams.
So come Oct. 12, there will be a team wearing black and gold on the ice, when Providence opens its season at home against Manchester. Whether the parent club will already be in the midst of its season (Boston’s supposed to open the night before in Philadelphia) remains to be seen. But if there’s a lockout in the NHL and you’re a big fan of Torey Krug or Jordan Caron, not to mention first-year pros Jared Knight and Ryan Spooner, you should still have a chance to see them.
