About last night: Bruins top Panthers in ugly fashion

Patrice Bergeron scored twice, including one into an empty net, in the Bruins’ 4-1 win against Florida Thursday night at TD Garden.

It wasn’t a game you’d let your kids watch if you could help it, as the Panthers were extremely shorthanded because of injuries and the Bruins were mostly disinterested against the Eastern Conference’s last-place team.

Shawn Thornton scored a big goal in the third period that gave Boston an important two-goal lead late. Here’s my game recap from NHL.com.

•The Bruins are scheduled to practice Friday morning in Wilmington. They’ll host Washington in a matinee Saturday.
