Well, the Bruins made their case to Jarome Iginla Wednesday night.
They scored five goals and nearly beat the Montreal Canadiens in a game that the former Calgary forward could’ve made a difference. The Bruins lost, 6-5, in a shootout at TD Garden.
Here’s my game recap from NHL.com.
Once Calgary finished its win against Colorado, it announced it traded Iginla to Pittsburgh and left most of New England disappointed. Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli has to regroup in order to boost his team for the stretch run. The trade deadline is April 3.
Against Montreal, Boston showed that it might have what it takes to score enough without Iginla and win some hockey games. Here’s my column on that from CBSBostonSports.com.
•The Bruins are not practicing Thursday. They’ll return to the ice Friday before heading on a road trip to Philadelphia and Buffalo over the weekend.
