Two top-four D move, neither headed to Boston



Teams continued to get out in front of the NHL trade deadline that awaits on Wednesday with a couple big deals involving top-four defenseman Monday night.

Both Jay Bouwmeester and Robyn Regehr were on the move.

Calgary traded Bouwmeester to St. Louis in exchange for a conditional first-round pick and two prospects. Regehr was dealt by Buffalo to Los Angeles for second-round picks in 2014 and 2015, according to TSN. The deal was contingent on Regehr passing a physical.

With a $6.8 million cap hit that continues into next season, Bouwmeester never seemed like a viable option to me for the Bruins,
